Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a method of tracking and monitoring activities that happen over a period of time. The print manufacturing process and all related functions can be tracked and assessed for optimum quality, cost, productivity, and waste results using SPC. Other activities, such as downtime, makeready and repairs can also be studied. The SPC procedure can forewarn a press operator if print results or the process begins to change during the production run, allowing problems to be addressed beforehand.
